Kambiyo, an open mic event showcasing BIPOC voices in Edmonton’s poetry and music scene, was hosted by the Writers’ Guild of Alberta and Horizons Writers’ Circle, led by Mila Bongco-Philipzig, at The Rooster on Whyte Avenue on January 25, 2025.

The event provided a platform for BIPOC poets and performers to showcase their artistry, share their lived experiences, and celebrate their diverse backgrounds through spoken word, poetry, and music.
